Sunglasses Holder

A wall ladder of walnut noses and ear bars. Each pair sits open on a nose by its bridge and on a bar by its temples, the way it sits on a face. Two ribs threaded onto two cleats, hung on four hidden screws, cut from two sheets: 12 × 16 in holds four rows, 12 × 20 in five, 12 × 24 in seven.

The top pair shows its forces, arrow lengths to scale. W is its weight at the centre of mass. Point 1 is the bridge's back edge on the seat floor, point 2 the temples on the ear bar. The lip in front of the bridge takes no load at rest; it is what stops a heavy front tipping forward. Only the 50 mm, 145 mm pair is drawn; the checks sweep the whole range.
