What is it?

No name or address needed, and please leave personal details out of the note. Only I read reports, and each is deleted after 90 days; the privacy page has the details.

What it makes

A 128.5 mm tall Eurorack front panel at any width from 2 to 42 HP, using Doepfer's published panel widths (8 HP is 40.30 mm, not 40.64) and mounting holes 3.0 mm from the top and bottom edges and 7.5 mm from the left. Every jack, pot, LED, switch and button hole is cut to its part's size, every label and scale is engraved as single-stroke vector lines, and a checker flags knob and nut collisions, jacks too close for patch plugs, thin webs between holes, parts in the rail zone and labels hidden under knobs.

How to use it

  1. Start from the 8 HP VCO, the 10 HP envelope, the 4 HP mult or a blank, or set your own width in HP.
  2. Click a part in the bin to add it, then drag it into place; it snaps to a 2.54 mm (half-HP) grid centred on the panel. Arrow keys nudge the selected part.
  3. Give each part a label and choose where it sits; pots can carry an engraved 11-tick scale.
  4. Clear every red check and read the amber ones. Turn on Knobs and Behind to see knob, nut and PCB-side body outlines.
  5. Download the SVG for a laser (red cuts, black engraving) or the DXF for a CNC router or a sheet-metal service, and save the layout to edit later.

Build notes

  • Panel widths and mounting-hole positions follow Doepfer's A-100 construction details. Widths Doepfer doesn't list are derived and marked as derived.
  • Hole sizes are the usual ones for Thonkiconn PJ398SM jacks (6 mm), Alpha 9 mm (7 mm) and 16 mm (7.5 mm) pots, mini toggles (6.2 mm) and a C&K D6R button; confirm against your parts and test-cut a scrap first.
  • The 10 mm rail keep-out is a common DIY rule, not a Doepfer figure; adjust it for your case.
  • Diode and CO2 lasers can engrave coated aluminium but can't cut it. Cut metal panels on a CNC router or send the DXF to a service.
  • Labels use a built-in single-stroke font (capitals, digits and common symbols), so exports contain no text elements.
  • Works fully offline; nothing is fetched.
